Pratima Bhoumik pays tribute at funeral of ‘Ulta Rath’ tragedy’s burn victim in Delhi

Agartala, July 28, 2023: Union Minister of State for Health, Pratima Bhoumik, paid her respects during the last rites of a woman who succumbed to her burn injuries at Safdarjung Hospital in New Delhi on Thursday.

In a heartfelt message posted on her Facebook page, Minister Bhoumik expressed her sorrow over the loss of yet another life to the relentless pandemic as the tragic end of the Kumarghat Rath’s journey unfolded. The deceased, identified as Ruma Sarkar, had been undergoing treatment at Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi. Today, her family confirmed her passing. The Minister offered her sincere tribute to Ruma Sarkar during the final rites held in Delhi.

It is a double tragedy for Ruma Sarkar’s family, as her younger sister had already lost the battle to this unforgiving disease. The elder sister had been courageously fighting for her life in Delhi. Minister Pratima Bhoumik expressed her prayers for strength and support from the Almighty for the bereaved family during these challenging times.
