Agartala, May 23, 2023: Union minister of state for Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhoumik has directed the officials of various departments to speed up the delivery of the benefits of various schemes of the central and state governments throughout the villages and towns of the state.
In the review meeting of district-level ‘Disha’ committee held on Tuesday in the conference hall of Sepahijala District Magistrate’s office, she directed the concerned to complete the implementation of various projects within the specified time while maintaining the quality.
She said that the benefits of various development projects of the government should reach the very poor people of the society. There can be no compromise on this. She advised the officials of various departments to work together to improve the financial condition of farmers.
The meeting reviewed the activities of the Departments of Works, Electricity, Drinking Water and Sanitation, Fisheries, Agriculture, Horticulture and Land Conservation, School Education, Health, Social Welfare and Social Education, Food, Rural Development etc.
In the discussion of the meeting, the DM Dr Vishal Kumar discussed the progress of various projects of the central government through power point presentation. In the meeting, the official of the Department of Drinking Water and Health said that 59 thousand 41 houses have been connected to drinking water through pipelines through Jal Jeevan Mission in the district and the work of connecting the rest of the houses is going on. In the current financial year, the district has a target of setting up 200 IRPs. The meeting informed about the progress of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, 167 roads and 4 bridges have been constructed in the district under PMGSY 1 and 2 projects.
The review meeting was attended by Sepahijala Zilla Parishad Sabhadipati Supriya Das Datta, Saha-Sabhadipati Pintu Aich, MLAs Sushanta Deb and Antara Deb Sarkar, Additional District Magistrate and Collector JV Duati, Sub-Divisional Magistrates of Bishalgarh and Sonamura sub-divisions, various elected representatives of Panchayat Samiti and BAC chairmen, and officials of various departments.
