Agartala, 16th March 2026: A preparatory meeting was held on March 13 at the premises of Brahmakunda Gram Panchayat office to ensure the smooth organization of the upcoming Brahmakunda Mela, which will be held from March 25 to 27, 2026 on the occasion of Ashokashtami.
The fair is being jointly organized by the Information and Cultural Affairs Department, Mohanpur Sub-Divisional Administration, and the Brahmakunda Mela Committee.
The meeting was attended by several dignitaries including Acting Sabhadhipati of PaschimTripura Zilla Parishad Bishwajit Shil, Chairman of Mohanpur Panchayat Samiti Rakesh Deb, In-Charge Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Mohanpur Dhrutishekhar Ray, Mohanpur Sub-Divisional Police Officer Ashish Dasgupta, Zilla Parishad member Joylal Das, DGM of Mohanpur Electricity Department Khokon Debbarma, Senior Information Officer of Mohanpur Sub-Divisional Information and Cultural Affairs Office Ashok Debbarma, social workers Bhanu Rudrapal and Paritosh Debbarma, among others.
During the meeting, it was decided that a three-day cultural programme will be organized by the Information and Cultural Affairs Department during the fair.
Exhibition stalls will also be set up by various government departments and Self-Help Groups.
Registration for opening shops at the fair will take place from March 19 to March 20. To ensure the successful organization of the mela, an organizing committee along with several sub-committees has been formed.
Acting Sabhadhipati Bishwajit Shil called upon everyone to extend their cooperation to make the traditional fair peaceful and successful.
