Agartala, 16th  March 2026:   Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman has strongly criticized the 2026-27 state budget, calling it completely “directionless” and claiming that it will achieve little in practice.

Addressing reporters, Roy Barman said that the general public of the state will not be satisfied with the budget. According to him, the budget lacks any concrete guidance for the state’s development.

The MLA also highlighted unemployment as a major issue in the state, asserting that the budget does not offer any clear plan or opportunities for job creation for the unemployed youth. He added that by neglecting the state’s economy and employment concerns, the budget remains confined to announcements alone, providing no real benefit to ordinary citizens, especially the unemployed youth
