Agartala, 9th July 2026: With only a few days left for the annual Rath Yatra festival of Lord Jagannath, preparations are going on in full swing at the Jagannath Jiu Temple in the capital city.
Ahead of the grand Rath Yatra scheduled for July 16, the temple authorities have lined up several programmes like previous years. A temple official said that on July 16, Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra will embark on their ceremonial journey through the city on chariots, allowing devotees to have a darshan of the deities.
The Ulta Rath Yatra (return chariot festival) will be held on July 24. As part of the Rath Yatra celebrations, a health camp and blood donation camp will be organised at the Jagannath Jiu Temple on July 12. The camp will be inaugurated by Mayor Dipak Majumdar.
A religious conference will also be held at the temple from July 19 to July 23 as part of the week-long festivities. Temple authorities are expecting a large gathering of devotees during the celebrations.
