Agartala: August 17. To make the diamond jubilee program of Maharaja Bir Bikram College a success, a meeting of the preparation committee was held today under the chairmanship of Education Minister Ratanlal Nath at the Secretariat.
It was informed in the meeting that the Diamond Jubilee of MBB College will be celebrated on the occasion of 75 years from September 5 to September 9 through various events. It was informed in the meeting that the President of the country Draupadi Murmu would be attended this event on September 9. It was decided in the meeting that a colorful procession will be organized on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of MBB College on September 5 at 6:30 am. This procession will roam various routes in Agartala.
The exhibition gallery of the college will also open at 10 am on that day. Cultural program will be held at 6 pm on this day.It was decided in the meeting that the drawing competition will be held from 7.30 am in Rabindra Hall of the college on September 6. Students and alumni of the college will participate in it. Apart from distribution of sweets and fruits to cancer hospital patients of the state on that day, an educational kit with food items will be given to an orphanage. The cross country race will be held on September 7 at 6 am.
Moreover, MBB University will conduct inter-college football tournament among the recognized colleges. 9 September is the foundation day of MBB College. The President, Governor, Chief Minister and other dignitaries will attend the main event on September 9, the last day of the 5-day event. A wonderful cultural program will be held in the college at 5 pm on that day. Prominent artists of Kolkata will also participate in this event.Apart from the education minister, Dipak Majumder, mayor of AMC, Santosh Saha, chairman of Tripura Tea Development Corporation, former vice-chancellor of Tripura University Arunoday Saha, Higher Education Department Secretary Abhishek Singh, Higher Education Director NC Sharma, Information and Culture Department Director Ratan Biswas, former MBB College professor Mihir Dev and other were present.
