President Murmu honoured Tripura Student and Teacher with National NSS Award

Agartala, 7th October 2025 : Bringing pride to Tripura, Anupam Das, a student from Ramthakur College and NSS volunteer, and Shyamal Dey, a teacher and NSS Programme Officer at Bani Vidyapith Higher Secondary Girls’ School, were awarded the prestigious MY Bharat–National Service Scheme (NSS) Award for 2022–23 at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The awards were presented by the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, in recognition of their outstanding contributions to social service and community development.

Anupam Das has been actively involved in environmental conservation and community welfare. His efforts include cleaning and preserving water bodies and planting 540 trees to promote afforestation.

The MY Bharat–NSS Award, instituted by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, honours young individuals who demonstrate exceptional dedication to social service, community upliftment, and nation-building.
