Prosperity of state possible when village is prosper: Deputy CM

Agartala: November 28. Deputy Chief Minister Jishu Dev Varma today said that the prosperity of the state is possible if the village is prosperous.

“To develop the country, priority should be given to the development of villages. The prosperity of a state is possible only if a village is prosperous. Therefore, the government has given more importance to the all-round development of the village”, said Deputy Chief Minister Dev Varma while speaking at the ‘Gram Diwas’ function held at Lalsingmura Gram Panchayat at Sepahijala district as part of the Good Governance campaign.

The minister further said that Lalsingh Mura village is practically a mini India. Because this village people from all communities, and religions are living together.“In the last four and a half years, the village and market of Lalsingh Mara have seen an all-round development. The government has emphasized the development of rural agriculture”, he said.With the aim of bringing the benefits of government schemes to people’s doorsteps, the good governance program has started on September 17 across the state.

As a part of this, Village Day was held at Lalsing Mura Gram Panchayat of Charilam RD Block under Bishalgarh sub-division of Tripura’s Sepahijala district.Deputy Chief Minister Dev Varma was present as the chief guest on the occasion. Panchayat Samiti Member Rajkumar Debnath, Local Panchayat Public Representative Eminent personalities and citizens. In the event, the Deputy Chief Minister handed over the benefits of various projects to the beneficiaries. This includes the distribution of bicycles among girl students.  Local children perform music and dance at cultural events. Local children perform yoga. Village Day is being celebrated across the state to deliver government schemes to the last man of the society. Common people are benefiting. The Deputy Chief Minister felicitated the senior citizens on the occasion.
