Agartala, 25th January 2025: The newly constructed pucca building of the Maternity and Child Department at Belonia Sub-Divisional Hospital was inaugurated today by Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy. The building was constructed at a cost of Rs 5.25 crore.
Speaking at a programme on the occasion of the 3rd anniversary of the Belonia Municipal Council at the Sachin Debbarman Auditorium, Finance Minister Singha Roy emphasized the importance of public representatives working for the welfare of the people. “Public representatives must work for the welfare of the people by standing by the people. They have an important role in ensuring that the last people of the marginalized villages of the state get access to government project services,” he stated.
In addition to inaugurating the new building, the Finance Minister laid the foundation stone for the new building of the Belonia XII Class Girls’ School, which will be constructed at a cost of Rs 8.51 crore. The event was attended by Cooperative Minister Shuklacharan Noatia, Dakshin Tripura Zilla Parishad Sabhadipati Dipak Datta, Belonia Municipal Council Chairman Nikhil Chandra Gope, South Tripura District Magistrate and Collector Smita Mol, South Tripura District Superintendent of Police Ashok Sinha, Health Director Dr. Sanjib Kumar Debbarma, social worker Dipayan Choudhury and other dignitaries. Belonia Municipal Council’s Chief Executive Officer Debasish Das delivered the welcome address.
Minister Singha Roy highlighted the state government’s commitment to the overall development of the people, with a focus on infrastructure development in education and health sectors. “For the overall development of the state, maximum importance has been given to infrastructure development in the education and health sectors. Moreover, importance has been given to agriculture and agriculture-related sectors to improve the socio-economic standard of the people,” he said.
He also mentioned the successful implementation of various projects and services by the central and state governments to make the people of the state self-reliant. “Advanced cancer treatment, including kidney transplant in health services, is now being done in the state. Tripura Gramin Jeevika Mission is playing an important role in making women self-reliant in rural areas. Many women in the state are becoming millionaires through self-help groups,” he added.
Cooperative Minister Shuklacharan Noatia, speaking at the event, praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative to build a developed India by 2047. “For this purpose, work is underway in the state to build a developed Tripura under the leadership of Chief Minister Professor (Dr) Manik Saha. The opportunities of education, health, drinking water, and electricity services are being provided to the people of every village,” he said.
