Agartala: July 06.The Pradesh Youth Congress today met Sadar Sub-Divisional Magistrate demanding to bring the prices of essential commodities under control.
The prices of daily essential vegetables are going up at an exorbitant rate which can be said to be out of reach of middle class and lower class people. Therefore, a delegation of the Pradesh Youth Congress gave a deputation to Sadar Sub-Divisional Magistrate Arup Deb on Thursday demanding to bring the prices under control.
Shahjahan Islam, Vice-President of PYC present in the delegation after the deputation, said that the price of daily necessities and vegetables have been increasing for the past few days. The price of vegetables has gone beyond the reach of common people. Some unscrupulous traders are increasing the prices of raw materials abnormally to gain crooked profits. This has raised the eyebrows of the common people. Sadar sub-district administration has no support against them. Along with this, traders are looking for opportunities to cut the pockets of common people by hoarding goods. Therefore deputation has been given demanding to bring the price under control immediately, he said.
