Agartala, 9th May 2025: Agartala Public School came alive with vibrant cultural energy as it celebrated Rabindra Jayanti to honor the 164th birth anniversary of the legendary poet ‘Kabiguru’ Rabindranath Tagore on Friday. The event began at 8 AM, was marked by enthusiastic participation from students, teachers and parents.
The program featured a variety of performances including speeches, recitations, dances, and songs, all inspired by Tagore’s timeless works. “The students brought Tagore’s writings to life through their heartfelt performances,” said one of the teachers involved in organizing the event.
The speech segment featured addresses by Shiba Prasad Bhowmik, the Principal-in-Charge; Rajat Baidya, an Assistant Teacher; and Kirjal Sarkar, a student of Class VII.
In the recitation segment, participants included Raktima Paul from Class VII, Eashita Debbarma from Class VIII, and Assistant Teachers Bishal Biswas, Suti Susmita Banik, Mousumi Rani Saha, and Monalisa Banik. Additionally, Beauty Ghosh, a parent also took part in the recitation with great enthusiasm.
The dance performances saw enthusiastic participation from students of Classes V to XII, including Apurba Sial, Sathi Biswas, Priyankari Roy, Debasree Ghosh, Aradhya Raheman and several others who showcased their talent with grace and energy.
The musical performances featured notable participants such as Anuja Das and Anindita Banik from Classes IV and V; Assistant Teachers Himani Sharma, Koheli Rudrapal, and Monalisa Banik; and students Sathi Biswas, Priyankari Roy, Afsha Khan, and Ahana Biswas from various classes.
The event concluded with a speech by Principal-in-Charge Shiba Prasad Bhowmik, who emphasized Tagore’s contributions to literature, education, and social reform. “Tagore’s values continue to inspire generations. Our students must emulate his legacy of creativity and social awareness,” he remarked.
