Railway police recover 32 lost mobiles, return to owners

Agartala, 8th October 2024: In a significant operation, the Government Railway Police (GRP) successfully recovered 32 lost or stolen mobile phones and returned them to their rightful owners. These mobile phones were reported stolen from various GRP police station areas across the state over different periods.

The owners had filed complaints with the GRP police stations, leading to the recovery operation. The recovered mobile phones, valued at approximately Rs 4.7 lakh, were handed over to their owners on Tuesday.

GRP Additional Superintendent of Police Saumen Sarkar was present at the handover ceremony. He stated, “The recovered mobiles were retrieved within the last month. We have successfully recovered mobile phones not only from within the state but also from outside the state.”

This operation highlights the GRP’s commitment to addressing theft and ensuring the return of stolen property to its rightful owners.
