Agartala, 27th January 2026: Agartala Municipal Corporation has initiated the construction of a new park in Ward No. 25 under its East Zone. The project, coming up on Dhaleswar Devendra Road, is estimated to cost around Rs 58 lakh.
The foundation stone and ceremonial ‘Bhoomi Pujan’ were held today with Member of Parliament Rajib Bhattacharjee in attendance. Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Dipak Majumdar, other civic representatives, and local dignitaries also joined the event.
Speaking on the occasion, MP Rajib Bhattacharjee said the park would provide a safe and vibrant space for residents, particularly children, to enjoy recreation and outdoor activities. He added that the facility is expected to serve as a hub for community gatherings, enhancing both the beauty and liveliness of the area.
Local residents expressed optimism that the long-standing demand for a park in the neighborhood is finally being met. They believe the new green space will improve the environment and have a positive impact on daily life once completed.
