Agartala, 27th January 2026:   A grieving mother broke down in tears as she appealed to Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha to help bring back her missing son.

Pradip Debnath, 35, of Sahapara in Magurchhara village under Satchand RD Block, has been missing since January 17. A daily wage worker who collected latex from rubber plantations, Pradip was the sole breadwinner for his family, which includes his wife, child, and elderly parents.

According to relatives, he left home early that morning for work but never returned. After frantic searches and inquiries, the family lodged a missing diary at Manubazar police station on January 19.

Ten days later, the family received a phone call from an unknown number claiming to be from Assam. The caller allegedly demanded money, promising to arrange Pradip’s return by train. The family sent the money online, but the number was switched off immediately afterward, leaving them devastated.

In desperation, Pradip’s mother, Bhanumati Debnath, wept before local journalists, begging the Chief Minister to intervene and ensure her son’s safe return.
