Rajib Bhattacharya to contest in Rajya Sabha from Tripura

Agartala, 20th August 2024:  BJP has named Rajib Bhattacharya, the party’s state President in Tripura, as its candidate for the Rajya Sabha seat representing the state. The election for this sole Rajya Sabha seat is scheduled for September 3.

On Monday, Rajib Bhattacharya, accompanied by Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha, traveled to Delhi to meet with BJP central leadership and Home Minister Amit Shah.

Bhattacharya expressed his gratitude, saying, “Being entrusted with this important role by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a great honor for me as a grassroots worker. I am thankful to BJP National President JP Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah for this opportunity. It shows that our party values its workers.”

He also expressed confidence in his victory, stating, “I am sure of winning the election and will work with the support of everyone.” Bhattacharya indicated that he will file his nomination on Tuesday.
