Agartala, 29th August 2026: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Mahila Morcha marked Raksha Bandhan with grandeur at the North Tripura district party office today. District president and BJP general secretary Rupali Adhikari said the festival was organized in a festive spirit, continuing the tradition of previous years.
The event saw participation from district leaders, local MLAs, and members of the BJP Yuva Morcha. As part of the programme, Mahila Morcha members tied rakhis on journalists present, symbolizing fraternity and goodwill.
Organizers noted that celebrations were not confined to the district office alone, but extended across mandal and booth levels. On Friday, Mahila Morcha leaders also visited Dharmanagar police station, tying rakhis to the Additional Superintendent of Police and on-duty personnel.
Highlighting the essence of the festival, Rupali Adhikari said, “Raksha Bandhan is not just a thread; it represents brotherhood, peace, harmony, and friendship.” She emphasized that the initiative aimed to spread this message of unity across all sections of society.
