Agartala, 29th August 2026: Amtali Police have arrested three persons allegedly involved in property-related crimes and seized a WagonR vehicle used by the gang, Amtali Police Station OC Rana Chatterjee said.
According to the OC, police had earlier arrested two alleged masterminds in property-related offences. During interrogation, they obtained information about other persons involved in the crimes. Acting on the leads, police conducted an operation last night and arrested three suspects from Agartala Bypass Road along with the vehicle.
Chatterjee said the accused allegedly used the car to transport gang members at night and commit thefts and other property crimes in areas under Amtali and other police stations across Agartala.
Police have gathered information about the disposal of stolen goods, the gang’s modus operandi and the identities of other accomplices. Efforts are underway to recover the stolen items, while further interrogation is expected to lead to more arrests. The accused will be produced before a court today.
The OC added that police are maintaining regular patrols and coordinating with neighbouring police stations to curb property-related offences.
