Ram Prasad attends 60th All India Civil Defense and Home Guard Force Foundation Day-2022

Agartala, December 06, 2022: The 60th All India Civil Defense and Home Guard Force Foundation Day-2022 was celebrated on Tuesday with due dignity in the state. A program to observe this day is organized centrally at Manoranjan Debbarma Smriti Maidan in Arundhatinagar here.

Fire and Emergency Services minister Ramprasad Pal, who was present as the chief guest, visited the parade and read the disaster preparedness pledge to all those present at the Maidan. Volunteers from SDRF, Home Guard, Fire and Emergency Services Department and Civil Defense participated in the parade on the day.

Speaking on the occasion, Punit Agarwal, Principal Secretary of the Revenue Department, said that from July 27, 2021, the scope of civil defense has been extended to all the districts of the state. At present there are about 2 thousand civil defense volunteers in the state.

The Director General of Police and Home Guard Commandant General Amitabh Ranjan also spoke. Director of Civil Defense Anindya Kumar Bhattacharya read out the greetings of the President and the Governor on the occasion of Civil Defense Day and delivered the welcome address.

In the second phase of the ceremony, First, Second and Third prizes were awarded to No. 1 Platoon of SDRF, Fire and Emergency Services Department and No. 2 Platoon of Home Guard respectively for excellence in parade. Moreover, certificates and mementos were handed over to 1 Civil Defense Volunteer and Apada Mitra each from 8 districts. Also disaster management exhibition, disaster response drills are also held. On the occasion of the ceremony, officers of various levels of the Defense Forces and students of various schools were present.
