Agartala, 6th July 2026: A total of 349 houses were allocated to eligible beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin) (PMAY-G) during a Gram Sabha held at Bagmara Gram Panchayat under the Dukli RD Block on Monday. The allocation process was completed during the meeting in the presence of public representatives, officials, and local residents.
The Gram Sabha was attended by Ramprasad Paul, Deputy Speaker of the Tripura Legislative Assembly and local MLA, as the chief guest. Panchayat representatives, officials of the concerned departments, and other local dignitaries were also present.
Addressing the gathering, Paul said the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin), implemented jointly by the Central and State governments, is fulfilling the long-cherished dream of owning a permanent house for homeless and economically weaker families. He said the scheme reflects the government’s commitment to improving the living conditions of underprivileged sections of society.
He urged the beneficiaries to complete the construction of their houses within the stipulated timeframe so that they could begin living in their new homes without delay. The Deputy Speaker also appreciated the efforts of the administration and local authorities in ensuring that the benefits of various government welfare schemes reach deserving people in a transparent and timely manner.
The announcement of the allocation of 349 PMAY-G houses was welcomed with enthusiasm by the beneficiaries, many of whom expressed happiness at finally receiving assistance to build permanent homes. Residents present at the Gram Sabha praised the government’s initiative and hoped that similar development-oriented welfare programmes would continue to benefit people across the region in the future.
The event concluded with the completion of the beneficiary allocation process, marking another step in the implementation of the government’s rural housing mission in the Dukli RD Block.
