Agartala, 11th September 2025: A spectacled monkey ventured out of the forest and into a busy auto stand in Sabroom town early this morning reportedly in search of food. The incident left local residents and commuters startled.
Locals said several auto drivers and passengers were waiting at the stand when they noticed a dark-colored monkey with distinctive white rings around its eyes darting through the area. Initially alarmed, some people attempted to flee, fearing the animal might pose a threat. However, it soon became clear that the monkey was harmless and not aggressive.
Forest department officials were later informed of the sighting. The animal is believed to be a member of a rare species, typically not seen in urban settings. Authorities are monitoring the situation and are expected to take necessary steps to ensure the monkey’s safety and return to its natural habitat.
