Agartala, 2nd January 2025: Power minister & local MLA Ratan Lal Nath today launched a special initiative to make the Mohanpur assembly constituency the cleanest in the state. Speaking at the Mohanpur Municipal Council premises today, he urged residents to not only keep their surroundings clean but also to purify their minds and hearts.
Taking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for a clean India seriously, Power Minister Nath has led efforts to maintain cleanliness in the Mohanpur Municipal Council area. “We are committed to making Mohanpur a model of cleanliness,” said Nath. “The Municipal Council has increased the remuneration of sanitation workers to ensure their dedication and hard work.”
The Chairperson and Vice Chairperson of the Mohanpur Municipal Council, along with the SDM and Deputy CEO of Mohanpur, have pledged to transform Mohanpur into a clean city. The Municipal Council has appointed 18 sanitation workers who will clean the roads from 6 am to 9 am daily.
In a ceremony held today, gloves, garbage trolleys, and brooms were distributed to the 18 sanitation workers in front of the Mohanpur Municipal Council. Minister Nath emphasized the importance of their role, stating, “These workers are the backbone of our cleanliness drive. We have ensured that they are paid Rs 3,500 for their efforts.”
Nath expressed his vision for Mohanpur, saying, “Our goal is to see Mohanpur ranked first among the clean cities of the state in the next survey. This is not just about physical cleanliness but also about fostering a sense of pride and responsibility among the residents.”
The initiative has been well-received by the community, with many residents expressing their support. “It’s inspiring to see our leaders taking such proactive steps,” said a local resident. “We are ready to do our part in keeping Mohanpur clean.”
