REGA employees demand regularization and equal pay in Tripura

Agartala, 7th February 2024:   A group of REGA employees from Mohanbhog block in Tripura submitted a deputation to the Block Development Officer (BDO) on Wednesday, seeking regularization of their jobs and equal pay for equal work. The deputation was led by Shivprasad Ghosh, the block cell committee head of the All Tripura MGNREGA Employees Welfare Association.

The employees, who work in various panchayats under the block, presented a demand certificate to the BDO, Shrikanta Chakraborty, after a discussion. They demanded that all REGA employees or those who have completed at least 10 years of service should be regularized by the central government. They also demanded equal pay infrastructure for equal work and employment for the family members of deceased REGA employees in die and harness process.

The BDO acknowledged their demands and promised to inform the higher authorities. He also appreciated their work and contribution to the rural development. The deputation head thanked the CDO for his positive response and hoped for a favorable outcome.
