Agartala, 3rd June 2025: The deteriorating condition of the main road connecting Mashauli to Laljuri in the Fatikroy block has sparked outrage among residents and political leaders. Despite repeated pleas to the administration, no substantial action has been taken to address the issue, leaving locals in distress.
According to reports, the nearly 4-kilometer stretch has been in a state of disrepair for an extended period, posing significant challenges for daily commuters, students, and patients in need of urgent medical care. The situation worsens during the monsoon, with waterlogging and deep potholes making travel hazardous. Residents claim that frequent accidents occur as pedestrians struggle to navigate through the accumulated water and mud.
Expressing their frustration, Fatikroy Block Youth Congress President Apu Shabdkar, along with party workers, has condemned the administration for its negligence. They warned that if immediate steps are not taken to initiate repairs, they will escalate their protest through a larger movement.
Local residents demand swift intervention to restore the road and alleviate their suffering. Anger is mounting against public representatives and authorities, with growing resentment over their inaction despite repeated calls for resolution.
