Agartala, August 10, 2023: Tension mounts as local residents express dissatisfaction over the police response to a recent break-in incident that took place on July 17 last. A group led by a miscreant named Chandan Deb reportedly forcibly entered the residence of Swapna Dey, breaking the door in the process. When the victim attempted to file a case at the local police station, she encountered reluctance on their part.
While a case was eventually registered after persistent efforts, concerns arise as the alleged miscreants remain at large, openly wandering in the area. Residents are troubled by the police’s lack of proactive action against these individuals, which has reportedly emboldened them to continue their criminal activities.
Consequently, a delegation led by women, including Purabi Talukdar, has decided to approach the West District Superintendent of Police, urging immediate apprehension of the accused. The incident has sparked demands for heightened vigilance and swift justice in the community.
