Agartala, 18th September 2024:  Residents of the Bishalgarh area have been grappling with a severe shortage of electricity and drinking water for the past five days, leaving them disoriented and frustrated. In response to the lack of action from authorities, residents of Manikyanagar staged a protest today blocking the Bishalgarh-Boxanagar road in a bid to draw attention to their plight.

The blockade, which brought traffic to a standstill was organized after multiple appeals to higher administrative officials failed to yield any results. Protesters demanded immediate restoration of electricity and water services, which have been disrupted for nearly a week.

Senior officials quickly responded to the situation, arriving at the scene to address the protesters’ concerns. After assuring residents that the issues would be resolved promptly, the protesters agreed to withdraw the blockade, restoring traffic flow in the area. The authorities have promised to resolve the electricity and water crisis soon.

The residents, however, remain watchful, waiting for tangible actions following the officials’ assurances.
