The community has endured a harrowing four-day ordeal grappling with a severe shortage of electricity, exacerbated by the ongoing fire crisis. This morning, their frustration boiling over, they resorted to blocking the road in a bid to draw attention to their plight.
Traffic ground to a halt as the impassioned demonstrators took to the streets, their voices echoing demands for urgent intervention. Despite previous efforts including both verbal and written complaints lodged with the electricity department, their grievances remained unaddressed. Shockingly, even the organization’s employees failed to acknowledge the pressing need for action, leaving residents with no choice but to escalate their protest.
“We’ve endured four days of darkness and despair,” lamented one protester, highlighting the dire consequences of the electricity outage on daily life in West Barjala.
