Agartala, 20th April 2024:  Former Chief Minister and CPIM politburo member on Saturday urged the public to come together in a united effort to remove the BJP from power. Addressing a crowd in support of CPIM’s candidate Rajendra Riang for the East Tripura Lok Sabha seat, Sarkar emphasized the significance of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections as a determinant of the nation’s democratic, sovereign, and secular future.

Sarkar criticized the current administration, labeling it as fascist and insisting on the necessity of establishing an alternative government to safeguard the country’s future. He claimed that failure to establish a new government would jeopardize the nation’s salvation.

The former Chief Minister accused the Narendra Modi-led government of undermining the electoral process and eroding the foundations of democracy. He argued that the BJP government is responsible for the erosion of fundamental rights and the exacerbation of economic woes, including rising commodity prices and unemployment, coupled with a lack of new job opportunities.

Sarkar’s call to action resonated with the rally’s attendees, as he implored them to cast aside fear and exercise their voting rights to effect change in the upcoming elections.
