Agartala Oct 28:  Activists of All India DSO/MMS/DYO jointly staged a protest in the Battala area of Agartala city against the increased rate of atrocities on women in the state including at least 4 rape cases in 7-days.

Amid ruling BJP’s “Har Ghar Sushashan” Campaign, the opposition has stepped up heat on the current dispensation over rising cases of violence on women and alleged involvement of ruling party leaders and associates in two recent gang rape cases in the state.

The protesters of All India DSO/MMS/DYO alleged that the state government does not believe in transparency. With the onset of BJP governance, atrocities on women have increased by leaps and bounds. Moreover, the police have continued to play partisan role and has covered their eyes.

The agitators added, “Through our protests here we want to send a message to the home Minister of the state that police should be more proactive and take action without being biased”.They demanded immediate arrest of all the accused associated with the heinous rape incidents at the earliest.
