Agartala: June 25. Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Sunday said that the number of blood donation camps in the state has significantly increased following which the storage of blood is available in the hospitals.
While addressing a blood donation camp oragnisedb by Arubindo Club, CM Dr Saha said that the government’s responsibility is to solve the basic problem of people and for which the people have formed this government.
“Our government is working to solve the basic problems of people. Whether it is Agartala Municipal Corporation, Nagar Panchayat or in Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council the government is responsible to solve the problem and that’s why people have elected us. During Assembly election the state faced acute crisis of blood and for this I have appealed the people to come forward to donate blood as we can’t manufacture blood in factor”, said Dr Saha.
He said that the state needs 40, 000 unit of blood however in the state as per data 42, 000 unit of blood are present.
“We are making progress in this regard. People are donating blood willingly, especially during festive occasions. I extend my heartfelt thanks to all those who have volunteered to donate blood. Additionally, blood donation programs foster a sense of unity among people,” the CM expressed.
He also said that blood donation program also create bonding among the people.
