Agartala, March 12, 2023: A 24-year old sustained grievous injuries in a road accident took place at Maharani area under Teliamura police station on Saturday last. Later on Sunday, the youth succumbed at GBP Hospital here.
It is reported that a 12-wheeler truck and an auto-rickshaw collided head-on in the Maharani area on the way home from the victory procession under Teliamura police station.
A 24-year-old youth named Alamgir Mia was seriously injured. When the locals saw the accident, Alamgir Mia was immediately rescued and shifted to Teliamura sub-divisional hospital for treatment.
The on-duty doctors immediately referred the injured youth to GBP Hospital in the capital city for better treatment. Alamgir Mia, the injured youth, died during treatment after being brought to GBP Hospital. After death, his body was handed over to the family after post-mortem.
As soon as the news of Alamgir Mia’s death spread, his parents and relatives broke down in tears in the hospital premises.
It is learned that after the accident, the locals booked the 12 wheeler truck driver along with the vehicle and handed over to the Teliamura police station staff.
The family of the deceased youth informed that they will file a case against the driver with Teliamura police station.
