Road woes; Locals locked Charilam Block Office

Agartala Nov 14: On Monday, resented locals of Thalabhanga area under Dy CM own constituency, Charilam, locked the main gate of Charilam Block Office demanding immediate road reform.

Alleging that the deplorable road left without any proper repair since long years have turned their lives miserable, the agitating locals said, “The BJP government came to power in the year 2018 and soon after that it has increased road taxes, VAT promising regular road maintenance, but nothing has been done in reality”.

Suffering from pathetic road condition, one of the agitating woman, Minati Das said, “We want safety of our children, accidents are on rise, we find difficulty in travelling as vehicles refuse to ply on this road because of poor road condition”.

“We are not from any political party. But it is this ruling government that promised us road maintenance before assuming power in the sate”.

The locals added, “We want answers from Dy CM Jishnu Dev Varma who is also our local MLA”.Meanwhile till the time of writing the report, locals continued their protest although the Block officials tried to convince the agitators.
