Rs 60.84 crore sanctioned for modern Baikhora Police Station building at Jolaibari

Agartala, 3rd June 2026:  In a significant push to strengthen law enforcement infrastructure, State Minister and local MLA Shukla Charan Noatia has sanctioned Rs 60.84 crore for the construction of a new, modern building for the Baikhora Police Station under the Jolaibari Assembly constituency.

The proposed project aims to upgrade the existing facilities and bring the police station under the ambit of modern infrastructure, thereby enhancing the overall efficiency of policing and public service delivery in the Baikhora area.

As part of the initial groundwork, Minister Noatia visited the proposed site to finalize the location and held preliminary discussions with concerned officials. The visit was attended by Panchayat Samiti Chairman Tapas Datta, Sub-Divisional Police Officer Bappi Debbarma, Officer-in-Charge of Baikhora Police Station Bishnu Chandra Das, along with officials from the Public Works Department.

Speaking to the media after the inspection, the Minister stated that construction work would commence shortly once all necessary administrative formalities are completed. He emphasized that the government remains committed to accelerating development initiatives in the constituency, with the vision of transforming it into a modern and exemplary region.

Local stakeholders and residents have welcomed the move, expressing optimism that the new infrastructure will significantly improve law enforcement capabilities and ensure better public service in the region.
