Agartala, 7th July 2026: CPI(M) leader Deb Prasad Choudhury, popularly known as Debal, has alleged that miscreants have destroyed his rubber plantation three years in a row due to his political affiliation. Despite filing written complaints with Madhupur police each year, no culprits have been identified so far.
Choudhury stated that his rubber plantation, established with a loan from Bandhan Bank on his own land, is his only source of livelihood. He recounted that in the first year, miscreants vandalized the plantation, prompting him to lodge a case at Madhupur police station. The same incident was repeated the following year, and this year the damage was even more extensive, with a large number of rubber trees cut down and destroyed.
He accused certain miscreants from Purathal Rajnagar of being behind the repeated attacks but refrained from naming them, citing political reasons. Expressing frustration, Choudhury said that if Madhupur police continue to remain inactive, he will approach the District Superintendent of Police or even the Director General of Police for justice.
“My only crime is that I belong to CPI(M). Why has my plantation been destroyed three years in a row? What conspiracy lies behind this?” he asked, urging the administration to investigate the matter thoroughly and ensure accountability.
