Agartala, 30th August 2025:   Two families in Anandpur village, Ward No. 1 of Mohanbhog Block, woke up to find their rubber plantations destroyed. The incident took place under the cover of darkness late last night, has left the families reeling from what could be a severe financial setback.

Locals informed that the attack took place shortly after 1 am when unidentified miscreants allegedly entered the plantations and systematically felled approximately 250 rubber trees. Locals suspect the act was premeditated, as the perpetrators vanished before anyone could respond.

By morning, stunned residents discovered the damage and began assessing the scale of the loss. Preliminary estimates suggest that nearly 250 trees were affected, posing a significant threat to the families’ primary source of income.

Rubber cultivation is the main livelihood for both households, and the destruction of such a large number of trees has sparked concern over their financial stability. “This is not just property damage—it’s an attack on our survival,” said one of the affected family members.

Local authorities have been informed, and an investigation is expected to follow. Meanwhile, the community remains on edge, questioning the motive behind the targeted destruction.
