Agartala, 8th December 2023: In a collaborative effort, the Sadar Sub-Divisional Magistrate and officials from the Food Department conducted a sudden raid on Maharajganja market today, uncovering a series of irregularities.
The operation revealed a multitude of violations, including the sale of expired goods and the illegal storage of fair price rice.During the raid, authorities confiscated 10 sacks of fair price rice from a local shop, shedding light on potential malpractices within the distribution of essential commodities. Additionally, two illegally stored cylinders were seized during the thorough inspection.
An official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, disclosed that notices would be issued to shops found guilty of widespread irregularities. The move comes as a response to concerns about the surge in the price of rice produced within the state. Several shops in Maharajganj were inspected this morning to ensure compliance with pricing regulations.
