Sadar Police administration holds all-party meeting, seeks co-operation

Agartala , 2nd December 2022:   Sadar sub-divisional police administration on Friday held meeting with representatives of all political parties to ensure that there is no violence in the Sadar area ahead of the ensuing assembly elections.

With Tripura slated to go to polls early next year, all the political parties have come down on field for extensive poll campaigning. And in this situation, several incidents of political violence are reported across the state.In this situation, the police are trying to ensure that the elections are held violence-free in the Sadar district area.

Owing to this, an all-party meeting was held in the presence of SDPO Ajay Kumar Das at West Agartala police station on Friday. Representatives of 6 political parties including BJP, CPI-M, Congress, TMC and others participated in the meeting. The OCs of two police stations of the city also remained present. Various issues were discussed in the meeting.

SDPO Ajay Kumar Das said, “Our sole motto is to prevent any sort of violence, bloodshed. We sought cooperation from all the political parties so that elections are held in a peaceful manner”.

Political parties will take up programmes, protest against any event, provided that it is done with permission. If the program is taken without permission, the police will take a case as per law, he added.
