Agartala, September 07, 2022: Social Welfare and Social Education minister Santana Chakma on Wednesday inaugurated the state-level programme of Rashtriya POSHAN Maash Abhiyan at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan here.
To mark the inauguration of the state-level Rashtriya Poshan Maash Abhiyan 2022, a colourful rally was held in Agartala this morning starting from Umakanta Academy School premises circumambulating various routes of the city and ends at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan premises.
In this procession, minister Chakma was accompanied by Paschim Tripura Zilla Parishad sabhadipati Antara Sarkar Deb, AMC Mayor Deepak Majumder, SW&SE Director Dr Siddharth Shib Jaiswal, officials of various departments and Anganwadi workers.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Chakma said “The main objective of Rashtriya Poshan Month is to bring children and adolescents who are suffering from malnutrition in different parts of the country under the nutrition scheme. In this program, pregnant and post-natal mothers are also being brought under the nutrition scheme. Every year from September 1 to 30 Rashtriya Poshan Month program is implemented in the country. This program is also being implemented in our state.”
She said that under the Rashtriya Poshan Maash Abhiyan, malnourished children, adolescents, pregnant and lactating mothers are ensured adequate nutritious food. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched this campaign to eradicate malnutrition from the country.
The Social Welfare minister also said that children are the future of the country. Healthy and strong babies are born only when pregnant and laboring women are healthy. That is why the central government has launched this campaign. She said that our program should not end within the Poshan campaign in the month of Poshan. In the implementation of this campaign, we have to ensure that the beneficiaries of the marginal areas of the state are not deprived of the benefits of Poshan Abhiyan.
Paschim Tripura Zilla Parishad sabhadipati Antara Sarkar Deb said, Rashtriya Poshan Maash Abhiyan 2022 is being implemented in our state along with the rest of the country in a festive mood. She wished the success of this expedition program.
On the occasion, Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Dipak Majumder said that the state absorption campaign is an important program to remove malnutrition from the society. He emphasized on the proper implementation of this programme. Social activist Papia Dutta spoke on the occasion. Director of the Social Welfare and Social Education department Dr Siddharth Shib Jaiswal gave a welcome speech and Deputy Director of the department Dr Dr L Ranchal gave the vote of thanks.
