SEAT organizes clothes distribution program for 300 Destitute Women on Mahalaya; Sushanta Chowdhury lauds initiative

Agartala, October 14, 2023: On the auspicious occasion of Mahalaya, the State Engineers Association of Tripura (SEAT) extended a heartwarming gesture by organizing a charitable clothing donation program at Agnibina Hall in Jirania, Tripura. The event, which took place on Saturday, saw the participation of 300 destitute women who were presented with new clothes for Mahalaya and the upcoming Durga Puja.

Majlishpur MLA and Transport Minister, Sushanta Chowdhury, graced the event and personally offered water and sweetmeats to each participant, extending his warm wishes for the upcoming Puja festivities. During his address at the clothing donation program, Minister Sushanta Chowdhury highlighted the importance of including the underprivileged in the joy of the Puja season, enabling them to celebrate in a beautiful and meaningful way.

Minister Chowdhury commended SEAT’s remarkable social service initiative as a positive and significant endeavor dedicated to serving humanity. He praised the organization’s commitment and urged others to follow suit in supporting initiatives aimed at helping the less fortunate and elderly members of society. He expressed his hope that the State Engineers Association of Tripura would continue to expand its social welfare activities in the near future.

Minister Sushanta Chowdhury acknowledged the laudable effort of SEAT members who contribute a portion of their hard-earned income to benefit neglected members of society. He assured that SEAT would remain committed to such noble social service work in the days to come.

The event was attended by several notable figures, including Jiraniya Nagar Panchayat Chairman Ratan Kumar Das, philanthropist Gauranga Bhowmik, Partha Sarthi Saha, Ranirbazar Municipal Council Councilor Shankar Saha, State Engineers Association of Tripura Vice President Subir Das, Joint Secretary (Administration) Satya Narayan Sarkar, and senior SEAT member Pradeep Das, among other members of the Executive Committee of the State Engineers Association of Tripura’s Jirania Complex Committee.

The initiative’s success was celebrated, and hopes were expressed for the continued growth and prosperity of the organization and the well-being of all its members.
