Section 163 Order Withdrawn in Kamalpur Eight Days After Violence

Agartala, 31st October 2025:  The Dhalai District Magistrate has revoked the prohibitory order under Section 163 of the BNSS, 2023 which was clamped in Kamalpur following a violence soon after strike of Tripura Civil Society.

In an official order, Dhalai District Magistrate Vivek H. B stated that restrictions on the movement of people within Kamalpur Sub-Division were imposed under Section 163 of the BNSS, 2023, on October 23, following reports of scattered incidents of clashes during the bandh.

The order further mentioned, “AND WHEREAS it has been informed by the Additional Superintendent of Police, Dhalai District, on behalf of the Superintendent of Police, Dhalai District, that the prohibitory order under Section 163 BNSS may be revoked from Kamalpur Sub-Division from 0600 hrs of 31/10/2025, considering the present law and order situation and the presence of security forces at Salema Police Station under Kamalpur Sub-Division. In view of this, the prevailing prohibitory order under Section 163 BNSS, 2023, is hereby revoked from Kamalpur Sub-Division from 0600 hrs of 31/10/2025 under Section 163(5) BNSS, 2023.”
