Agartala, 22nd June 2024:   The Institution of Engineers (India) (IEI), Tripura State Centre has organized a Seminar Program on ‘Yoga for Inner Engineering Practices’ on 21st June in connection with International Yoga Day 2024 in the Seminar Hall of the IEI, Tripura State Centre at Pt. Nehru Complex, Gurkhabasti, Agartala.

Every year on June 21, International Yoga Day is observed to emphasize the importance of yoga and its benefits for our minds and bodies and how Yoga can promote holistic health. The significance of 21st June is that it is the longest day of the year in the northern hemisphere and holds special significance in many parts of the world. Moreover, the summer solstice signifies the start of the ‘Dakshinayana’ period in Indian calendars. Recognizing this important role of yoga, this year’s theme of International Day of Yoga is ‘Yoga for Self and Society’ which emphasises the unifying power of yoga in bringing people together and fostering a sense of harmony and peace in the society. Practice of Yoga and meditation, gives immense strength and energy. ‘Engineering’ is the branch of science and technology concerned with the design, building, and use of engines, machines, and structures. Here in Yoga, the design, building of the Body, which in itself is such a unique engine, machine and structure that come what may, we just cannot manufacture it exactly the way it is. So in Yoga what we do is use this machine in the best optimum natural way. With Yoga the Body-Machine is oiled, and worked upon inside out so that it works in a healthy way right upto its expiry date. With Yoga there is physical progress, mental progress, intellectual progress and also spiritual progress.

Thus all departments are taken care of in a good way. Thus with great horse power, and with no requirement of any artificial intelligence, Yoga is like Engineering. Working on the body and mind in a positive way. Swami Buddhirupananda, Vice Principal of Ramkrishna Mission Vidyalaya, Veveknagar Agartala and Prof. Prabhat Kumar Mahapatra, Director, Central Sanskrit University, Ekalavya Campus Agartala graced the programme as Guest of Honour and Special Guest respectively.
