Agartala, 22nd June 2024: State Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Tinku Roy visited the newly constructed state-of-the-art track and field ground at Panisagar RCPE on Saturday. Accompanying him was Amit Kumar Yadav, Assistant Director of North District Sports.
“This state-of-the-art track field has been developed thanks to the dedicated efforts of our Chief Minister,” Roy stated during the inspection. “Our state has already produced several children who have excelled at both national and international levels, particularly in yoga and various sports.”
The new facility aims to support young athletes in the region by providing world-class training grounds. “We have set up this track field to support boys and girls in their athletic pursuits. Running and football facilities have been arranged simultaneously,” Roy added.
Initially, the ground was scheduled to be inaugurated by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on June 29. However, due to unforeseen circumstances requiring his presence in Delhi, the inauguration is now likely to take place on July 2.
During his visit, Minister Roy also inspected the ongoing construction of an adjacent swimming pool. “This Panisagar field is a pride of the state,” he emphasized.
The development of these facilities underscores the state government’s commitment to nurturing young talent and promoting sports at all levels.
