Agartala, 8th March 2025 :  Veteran Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman visited Kanchanpur subdivision on Thursday for a one-day tour, marking his first visit to the region in five years. During his visit, he attended a party meeting at the Congress Bhavan in Kanchanpur, where he engaged in discussions with party workers regarding the organizational situation.

Addressing the gathering, Barman raised serious concerns about the state government’s role in the overall development of the subdivision, questioning the progress made in the last few years. “The development scenario in Kanchanpur, as well as the entire state, is extremely disappointing,” he stated.

In addition, Barman expressed his support for the Indian Army’s retaliation against Pakistan in the ongoing geopolitical tensions. “The Indian Army’s response deserves our utmost respect,” he said. He further announced that the Congress party would organize a march with the national flag on May 9 to express solidarity with the country’s soldiers.

Congress leader Chayan Bhattacharya was also present at the meeting, supporting Barman’s remarks on political and developmental issues in the region.
