Agartala, Nov 28: The Sepahijala district youth festival was held at the Sachin Dev Burman Culture Arts Center on Tuesday, with the participation of artists and athletes from various blocks, municipal councils and nagar panchayats.
The festival, organized by the Sepahijala District Youth Affairs Sports Department in collaboration with the district council, district administration and other departments, featured various events such as Samabet Nitya, Samabet Sangeet, Solo Nitya, Solo Sangeet, Poster Writing, Abritti Competition, and Photography Competition. The winners of the district level competition will compete in the state level competition in Agartala on December 2.
The festival was inaugurated by the Sports Department Minister Tinku Roy, who lit a lamp at the Sachin Dev Burman Cultural Art Field at Bishramganj. He was accompanied by the Sepahijala Zilla Parishad Sabhadipati Supriya Das Dutta, the outgoing Kamalasagar MLA Antara Sarkar Deb, the Sepahijala Zilla Parishad Saha-Sabhadipati Pintu Aich, the Sepahijala District Additional District Magistrate JB Doatia, the Additional SP Prabir Pal, and the Assistant Director of Sports Department Dr Bharti Nigam.
After the opening ceremony, the minister cut the ribbon to inaugurate the stalls of various departments, such as sports, natural disaster, and social welfare. He also visited the stalls and handed over sports equipment to the Madhupur Kabaddi team on behalf of the Bishalgarh Panchayat Samiti.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister praised the talent and enthusiasm of the youth and encouraged them to pursue their dreams. He also said that the government was committed to promoting the development of sports and culture in the state.
