Agartala, December 07: Sepahijala district’s SP BJ Reddy has taken disciplinary action against eight police officials from Bishalgarh police station by withholding their salaries. The move comes in response to allegations of dereliction of duties and persistent violations of orders issued by their senior officials.
According to a circular issued by Superintendent of Police BJ Reddy in Sepahijala district on December 3, the pay of the following Police Non-Gazetted Officers (Non-GOs) of Bishalgarh PS has been kept on hold. The circular explicitly states that the action is a consequence of their negligence in case disposal and consistent defiance of orders from superiors over the past three months.
The circular further highlighted specific performance shortcomings, stating, “They have been given a target of 18 cases of Special Report (SR) and Non-SR, but have only disposed of three cases.” This discrepancy in meeting the assigned targets has raised concerns about the efficiency and commitment of the affected police officials.
The police officials are- SI (UB) Mridul Majumder, SI (AB) Rakesh Debnath, IC SI (UB) Ashit Bhattacharjee, IC SI (UB) Bishnupada Ghosh, IC SI (UB) Partha Kumar Saha, IC ASI (UB) Pradip Natta, IC ASI (UB) Jaharlal Debbarma, and IC ASI (UB) Arun Debbarma.
