Agartala, 28th December 2025: Over 200 voters from the Tipra Motha Party and the Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT) formally joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today.
The joining programme was held at the BJP state office, Kushabhau Bhavan, in Agartala through a press conference.
The event was attended by BJP state general secretary Bipin Debbarma, office secretary Mihir Sarkar, state media in-charge Sunit Sarkar who also paid tribute to late Bishwabandhu Sen and BJP Sadar Gramin district president Gauranga Bhaumik, along with other party leaders.
Welcoming the new members, Bipin Debbarma said that people from various political parties and different sections of society are joining the BJP every day, inspired by the development-oriented initiatives of the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister.
He stated that the continuous development and stable governance under the BJP-led government are the main reasons behind these joinings.
The leaders who joined the BJP after leaving Tipra Motha and IPFT include Bapi Rupini, Manimala Debbarma, Sumiti Debbarma, Prabharani Debbarma, and Budhiram Debbarma, among others. They hail from the Mandai and Simna areas. In addition, a total of 246 voters from 72 families also joined the BJP on the same day.
The newly inducted leaders and workers were welcomed with flowers. BJP leaders expressed hope that these joinings would further strengthen the party’s organizational base in the concerned areas.
