Agartala, 5th June 2025 : On the occasion of World Environment Day, the SFI and DYFI Dukli Divisional Committee organized a tree plantation and sapling distribution program at the CPI (M) Dukli Sub-Divisional Office. The initiative, attended by a large number of students and youth, aimed to promote environmental awareness and sustainability.
Several leaders and members of the organizations participated in the event, including DYFI State Secretary Nabarun Deb, State Committee Members Khokan Ghosh and Abul Hussain, along with Dukli Divisional Committee Secretary Subhankar Majumdar and Divisional Secretariat Member Subhankar Chowdhury. Former President Pankaj Ghosh, Former Youth Leader Swapan Poddar, Kamal Mia, Labor Leader Srijan Dev, Women Leader Pramila Roy, and SFI State Secretariat Member Alok Dev were also present, alongside Divisional Committee Secretary Vishal Chakraborty, President Pankaj Sarkar, and Vice President Abhishek Bhowmik.
Speaking at the event, DYFI State Secretary Nabarun Deb highlighted the importance of environmental conservation and urged citizens to take responsibility for protecting nature. He emphasized that deforestation has been contributing to environmental imbalance and the rise of new diseases, warning that continued destruction of trees could have catastrophic consequences.
Deb reiterated that the leftist student and youth organizations—SFI, DYFI, TSU, and TYF—have been actively celebrating World Environment Day across the state by organizing tree plantation drives and sapling distributions. He called upon the public to support the movement by planting trees and gifting saplings, fostering a culture of ecological responsibility for future generations.
