Shah Visits Tripura Border Outpost, Reviews BSF Security, weapons, arms

Agartala, 5th June 2026:  Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited the Lankamura Border Outpost in Tripura along the India–Bangladesh border to review security arrangements and operational readiness of the forces deployed there.

During the visit, accompanied by Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha, he inspected advanced weapons, arms, and surveillance equipment showcased by the Border Security Force, and was briefed on their role in strengthening border protection and curbing illegal cross-border activities.

He also interacted with BSF personnel stationed at the outpost, sharing a high-tea with the jawans and appreciating their dedication to national security. On the occasion of World Environment Day, he participated in a plantation drive and planted an agarwood sapling at the facility, highlighting environmental awareness alongside security efforts.

The visit underlined ongoing measures to reinforce border management, enhance vigilance along the frontier, and maintain stability in the region.
