Agartala, 10th August 2025:  The District Education Officer (DEO) of South Tripura has issued a show cause notice to the Assistant Headmaster and eight teachers of Satchand H.S. School in Sabroom over charges of unauthorized absence, dereliction of duty, and poor maintenance of the school premises.

During an inspection on August 7, 2025, at 1:35 PM, DEO officials found Assistant Headmaster Janatapati Tripura absent without prior intimation or sanctioned leave. Reports further alleged that he frequently remains absent without proper approval.

The same inspection revealed that eight other teachers were also missing without valid documentation. Several of those present were reportedly found idling in the staff and ICT rooms during class hours, resulting in students being deprived of scheduled lessons. Additionally, the school premises, including classrooms, were observed to be untidy and unhygienic.

The DEO has instructed the Assistant Headmaster and the other accused teachers to respond within two working days, explaining why disciplinary action should not be initiated and why their absence should not be treated as dies-non (no work, no pay). Failure to provide a satisfactory explanation will be considered willful negligence, attracting strict action without further notice.
