Agartala, 23rd November 2024: The state’s Tourism Department is gearing up to launch the eagerly anticipated Promo Fest on December 03. This year, the festivities will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha at Narikel Kunja in Dumbur under Dhalai district. A variety of local music performances will set the tone for the event, followed by the inauguration of a vibrant food festival stall and an exciting boat competition.
The Promo Fest will continue its journey to Neermahal on December 09 with the fairgrounds hosting the event. Notably, Niharika Nath, the first runner-up of Zee Saregama Bangla 2023 will be performing at Neermahal. Attendees can look forward to an enchanting evening of SD Burman, Bengali Baul and Bhatiali songs.
On December 11, the festival will move to Jampui Hill in Unakoti district, where local dances will be showcased. The event will also feature the inauguration of food stalls and selfie points, enhancing the visitor experience.
The main event in Agartala is scheduled from December 12 to December 14 culminating in a grand performance by legendary music artist Shreya Ghoshal at Swami Vivekananda Maidan in Agartala city on December 14. Minister Sushanta Chowdhury made the announcement during a press conference at the Geetanjali Tourism Guest House in Agartala city on Saturday.
Minister Chowdhury expressed his excitement about the event, stating, “We are thrilled to bring such a diverse and culturally rich festival to Tripura. This year’s Promo Fest promises to be a spectacular celebration of our heritage and talents.”
He also revealed plans for the release of an official video featuring Shreya Ghoshal. “We will be releasing an official video of Shreya Ghoshal soon, which will add to the anticipation and excitement surrounding the event. We aim to make Promo Fest an annual fixture every November and December,” Chowdhury added.
The Promo Fest series is set to be a vibrant celebration, highlighting the cultural richness and artistic talents of Tripura, while also promoting local tourism and community engagement.
