Since 2016, THRC disposes 368 cases out of 390

Agartala, 3rd December 2023:  The Tripura Human Rights Commission has disposed of 368 cases from 2016 to 2023.Tripura Human Rights Commission Chairperson Justice Swapan Chandra Das said that a total of 390 cases have been registered with the Commission from 2016 to November 2023.

“This includes 270 cases received from the public. Tripura Human Rights Commission took up 120 cases on its own initiative. 368 cases have already been disposed of. He said that currently the commission is organizing awareness camps in various schools and colleges of the state. So that everyone including students are aware of human rights”, said the chairperson.

As part of the International Human Rights Day celebration on December 10, a drawing competition was held today at the office of the Tripura Human Rights Commission in Kunjaban.

The competition was inaugurated by Tripura Human Rights Commission Chairperson Justice Swapan Chandra Das. Drawing competition was held in two categories, 8-12 years and 12-16 years. 150 contestants participated in these two categories.

Inaugurating the drawing competition, the Chairperson of Tripura Human Rights Commission said that the Human Rights Commission works to protect the rights of the backward classes, working class, students and children in the society.

“It is with this aim in mind that a drawing competition has been organized today on the rights of healthy environment, child rights, gender equality, rights of the disabled and rights of senior citizens. Besides, slogan competition on ‘Protection of Human Rights’ has also been organized from the students of various colleges and universities of the state”, he said.

 The winners of sit drawing and chanting competition will be awarded at the International Human Rights Day function at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan on December 10. He said that the Tripura Human Rights Commission was formed in the state in 2016.He urged the media to come forward in its promotion and expansion.

Tripura Human Rights Commission Member Subir Chandra Saha, Member BK Roy, Revenue Department Principal Secretary Punit Agarwal, Tripura Human Rights Commission DSP Lalhim Malsam, Commission OSD Animesh Dhar and others were present.
